The Black Bear Inn is a mile up the lane from the Chainbridge over the river Usk. It sits at the northeast corner of the Alice Springs Golf Course. The area is popular with walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
Take the Usk turn off on the A449 between Monmouth and the Coldra at Junction 24 of the M4. In the town of Usk turn right at the Three Salmons on the B4598 towards Abergavenny. After 2 miles, fork right on the narrow lane to Bettws Newydd. The inn is 2 miles up the lane at the crossroads in the village.
